It’s Okay to Do Nothing

The more I submerge myself in my truth, and becoming non-negotiable about outcomes that are important to me, the more I find myself doing absolutely nothing. I don’t mean doing nothing in the sense of foregoing my responsibilities to sit on the couch and binge on Hulu. But I mean, when I’ve done all that I can in a particular area of my life I give myself permission to let go and let God handle the rest. In the past, I would get to this point and keep poking at the situation until something moved. It wasn’t enough for me to set my intention, keep a positive attitude, do the work and wait. I had to attempt to control the outcome immediately.
I now trust the process and honor infinite intelligence. I have learned that to get better results you have to be better. And being better for me means to relax and honor my desires by feeling gratitude for them as if they are already done. Internal peace is what draws our desires closer, while dis-ease and anxiety push them away. Doing nothing is a skill that is far more rewarding than running around in circles pretending that I can fix, push or force everything in my life to be exactly as I want it. Distrust also closes the door to possibilities I may not have considered. Doing nothing provides the space your desires need to grow and flourish.
