My Personal Mantra

.

Today is my first day working from a shared workspace office. I considered the membership for some time now, being that when I’m home there is little dedicated space for work only. And to be honest, I’m not even sure a home office would work because for me, home is for my daughters; cooking, homeschooling, eating dinner, cleaning, laundry and all that fun mommy stuff. People that work from home understand how sometimes you just need a reason to comb your hair, put on makeup, get dressed and be in the midst of other hardworking adults.

.

I signed up and paid for this office space blindly, I had been to the space before, but I truly didn’t know what the culture was like. Turns out its just what I need and more. It feels good to be in this space and focus on writing only. Coffee shops are cool, but the traffic, noise and random seating is no longer sufficient for a serious writer like myself.

.

I say all this to say that sometimes we blindly or boldly step into new territory and wonder why we let apprehension hold us back for so long. Yesterday a great mantra just popped in my head that I intend to use all the time.

.

“I don’t know what I’m doing _____________________________, but its been amazing so far and I am optimistic about the results.”

.

And in that blank, I can throw just about anything; homeschooling, writing, teaching, working on my PhD, parenting, working out, etc.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing in life, but its been amazing so far and I am optimistic about the results!!!

.

Truth is, we never really know how anything is going to turn out, but be grateful for the opportunity and always remain optimistic about the results.

.

LOVE,

Jameelah
