Not Good Enough?

Not Good Enough?

Like many people out there, I have dealt with the feeling of not being good enough. Whether its being a mother, a friend, a daughter, a sibling, a student, a teacher, a mate or a writer; I have to consistently make an effort to feel good about myself. To check in with my mental self-talk, to be sure that it is loving, encouraging and nurturing. Often when we spread ourselves too thin, we become mediocre at many things, as opposed to being great at a few.
When we do work to become great at something that we might consider our purpose, rarely is there an overabundance of external, positive reinforcement. This void can leave us feeling unsure of ourselves, our abilities and whether or not we are making progress.
Keeping our minds occupied with positive thoughts, staying away from comparing our progress to others and doing all that we can with everything we have; is more than enough. Just being who we are is more than enough. There is nothing to add or subtract. The not enough feeling is a fallacy cultivated in our minds and magnified by external environments.
Continue to believe in your abilities, be present in all your moments and never forget the greatness that lies within. And whenever that pesky not enough feeling sneaks in; remember to be kind to yourself, have patience with yourself and love yourself unconditionally.
LOVE,
Jameelah
