Expectation that overshadows doubt...

Doubt is the killer of so many dreams, ideas and plans. Imagine the amount of people who have world-changing ideas that are never born, because of placing fear and doubt ahead of possible success. We are often taught by mass media, friends, coworkers and family, that taking risks is irresponsible. Or that, following our dreams or great ideas is foolish, We get questioned, “What if it doesn’t work?” or “What if you fall flat on your face?” People rarely suggest, “What if you succeed?” Imagine all of the goals we would accomplish if we actually believed that we could and that even if it looks shaky in the beginning, it doesn’t mean we are not on the right path.

We get so bogged down with the doubt that positive expectation becomes a distant memory in a matter of seconds. Doubt creates procrastination, low self-esteem, fear, scarcity mindset, panic, poor choices and a plethora of other negative emotions. The type of emotions that will not bring us closer to our goals. When we are in doubt, we forget that life is not a dress rehearsal and that what we do now determines our future, the same way, what occurred in our past determined our present.

In the midst of making any major choices, decisions or reacting to something that has occurred, I pause for a moment and ask myself if my next move is being birth out of fear or growth, am I harping on the negative outcomes or the positive outcomes. Will I regret my choice or be happy I was bold enough to make it?

In what areas of your life do you want your positive expectations to overshadow your doubt? How is it effecting your quality of life? What do you want to achieve that requires you to look beyond your doubt and fear and step into positive expectation?
