Consultation

Whether you are a poet, a novelist or a memoirist; JamRa Books can help. You will receive a one on one, face to face or over the phone meeting. In this meeting you can discuss the type of project you have, the ways in which it can be executed and how the rest of the process will work. In your consultation you will gain clarity on your project and receive specific instructions on how to proceed even if you do not decide on the bundle.   

Copyright

Before we move forward with editing your project, it needs to have a copyright on file with the Library of Congress. We will complete this process for you before we get started. This protects your hard work from being appropriated, or worse; stolen. Once the copyright is filed, we can begin to dig into your amazing manuscript.  

Copy-editing

This is the process of reviewing and correcting your material to improve accuracy, readability, and fitness for its purpose, and to ensure that it is free of error, omission, inconsistency, and repetition. Additional charges for manuscripts at more than 100,000 word count. 

Proofreading

Careful reading (and rereading) of a (yet to be finally-printed) document, to detect any errors in spelling, punctuation, or grammar. It may also involve checking of different elements of a layout (such as headlines, paragraphs, illustrations, and colors) for their correct dimensions, placement, type, etc. Every author knows that (despite the spelling checking abilities of modern word processors) a human proof reader is indispensable.

 

Formatting

Once your project is complete...(yay!), it needs to be formatted for both print and ebook. If you choose only one option to present your project to your audience, you will still receive both formats. This is just in case in the future, you wish to change your mind. In this step, you decide the size of the book you would like, we add headers, page numbers, table of contents, dedications, acknowledgements and about the author. The author retains the right to add additonal formatting for his/her specific needs.  

ISBN

This step is where you will receive your both your 10 and 13 digit ISBN. An ISBN is an International Standard Book Number. In other words, its like your projects social security number. The ISBN allows you to sell your book online and use multiple platforms, like Amazon and your own website.     

Cover Design

Cover design includes, front, back and spine. First we discuss some ideas for your cover, such as colors, mood and pictures. You will receive three designs to chose from and from there, you may alter the design of your chosen cover at a maximum of three times. Each step of the way, we discuss your needs, likes and dislikes, in order to achieve maximum satisfaction. 

Proof

Once your files are complete. We will submit them to the POD distributor for final review. Once the book is approved, you will receive your digital and paperback proof. You will have a total of 60 days to approve the final proof before we close the contract. All changes or corrections must be submitted in this 60 day period.

*You will receive all final documents related to your book; ebook, manuscript, cover, copyright, pictures, etc. You own them, we don't.    

Total Cost

This bundle is priced at $1495. Each service can be purchased separately. 

The consultation is free, there is no obligation to purchase. The initial deposit of $500 is due once you decide to purchase the bundle. A second payment of $500 is due at the formatting step and the final payment of $495 is due at the completion of the cover design and delivery of your proof. Very affordable and personable bundle.
